I’ve always had limited edition Pokemon consoles and thought – why not pre-order? Months later on release date, collection took 3 freaking hours and the queue went around the building. Oh my gawd.
Fun fact – I messed up applying the screen protector (thanks Edgar) and a bubble formed right smack in the middle. Took me some time to get rid of it.

That day, a decision was made to reset for a specific nature for my starter. Fast forward a few hours, I finally got a hasty Pikachu, but it didn’t make much of a difference through the story line. Good news is that I caught a shiny Pidgey shortly after. It took me awhile to get LGE exclusives, going through a couple of Reddit posts for trade. It was a little annoying to need a subscription to access the online part of trading.
Thoughts – I’m really surprised how well the console fits on my hand. The joy-con feels great detached and switching (no pun intended) to docked mode is heaven for lazy people like me. I could channel my inner Slaking while laying on bed. I wouldn’t suggest playing Pokemon in docked though, as the flicking action got repetitive and frustrating.
Moving on, I am definitely planning to get more games on the Switch. Not sure if it’s a good news – 12.12 sales in less than a week. Goodbye money.
